Supporting teens academically and developmentally
Teens and families have faced a tremendous learning curve this past year and half. Academically, emotionally, and socially – students experiences are all over the map. As are parents expectations for the school year this fall.
Tutoring that looks more like mentoring
Students will focus on building skills, designing projects, and pursuing interests in a relaxed but thought-provoking sessions. Because there is a lot more to learning than textbooks and worksheets.
It’s important for students to have agency in their lives and learning, which is why they will be included on what they feel they need, want, and don’t want. Coupled with a professional assessment of their skills, developmentally appropriate benchmarks, and general preparedness, we will create a unique plan for their chosen path.
This pandemic has done a lot to shake up education, high stakes tests like the SAT and ACT are being dropped by college admissions. Young people have more options now than they did a few years ago to forge their own way forward. That said, we all need a little (or a lot) of help sometimes to reach expectations and our own potential.

“Elizabeth is remarkably skilled at building a connection with my daughter while still commanding her focus. Her ability to be both an authority and a trusted friend is completely unique in our experience.“
